Don’t say it. Don’t be sorry. Don’t feel sorry. Don’t feel bad about it. Don’t even think about it.
How about this instead?
- I’ve got it
- Consider it done now
- This won’t happen again
- I’ve fixed it
- That was a good lesson
Feeling sorry is a trap. This is the way your ego (I call it ego) is trying to get you feeling guilty, and assume the image of that person who is very, very sorry. But if instead, we take responsibility for the actions, by… not saying, but by doing. Doing the right thing.
Because at the end of the day, this is exactly what the other person wants to happen. Not that you are “sorry”… but that you “won’t do it again”… or “have taken the steps” to make things better.
