What does a life coach do?

What is a life coach? What does a life coach do? What is life coaching?

If you have never had a life coach in the past, you might be wondering – why would someone want or need a coach and how it works. Here are some thoughts to ponder upon.

You are a purpose seeker.

Are you someone who has contemplated life for a while? You know – the thinking. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening… in the middle of the night. You have many thoughts in your head that sometimes don’t let you sleep. You notice things others don’t. You feel things others just brush off. You analyze and overthink even the smallest decisions in your life because you want to know the truth. You want to have the best facts to make your decisions upon. You want to make sure that you are living your life on point. That you are useful to others. That you are making a difference in this world. That you matter! That what you do matters! Daily. You want to live your purpose.

How can a life coach help you:

Life coaching will be useful for you to organize and focus your thoughts. Because you are a natural thinker, you might have some thoughts in your brain that are not necessarily useful for you in this season of your life. All your thoughts are valid and super useful, but if you have too many of them, you might be tripping over your brilliance! It’s almost like you are too smart for your own good! A skillful life coach will help you to organize, prioritize and harness your passions so that you stop overthinking and start living your life purposefully. Today!

You want to live a fuller life.

You have lots of ideas, inspirations and aspirations. To be better, to live fuller. You want to experience life, you want to share your own experiences with others, and you want to be bolder and more confident in your choices. Other people might tell you about your brilliance, but you somehow don’t see it. Or even if you do see it, you are not sure if you are living it to the fullest. You are itching to do something bigger. You have this inkling that you are not living your own life. It’s like you are almost faking it through your days. There’s nothing wrong in particular. You have a great life. Lots to be grateful for, but somewhere in the back drawer of your brain, there’s this longing for something more. You are not quite sure what it is, and you are tired of that voice nudging you – you want to do something about it.

How can a life coach help you:

A life coach will be able to guide you in a conversation for you to listen to yourself and be honest with yourself in terms of what’s working and what’s not working for you in your life. A life coach who is trained to coach, and not to advise or teach, will ask you specific questions that will redirect your thinking towards you. This will allow you to think in a new way about those aspects of your life that you might want to change.

You’ve outgrown yourself.

You have changed your life, and you are gaining awareness about the world around you in a new way. But your loved ones are not seeing what you are seeing. You may have this inner conflict of accepting your changes or the fact that your loved ones are not understanding your transformation. This bothers you because you want your loved ones to experience what you are experiencing. You don’t want your new identity to ruin the special relationships you have in your life. You want your relationships to be better!

How can a life coach help you:

A life coach can help you to make sense of your transformation in relation to others. You will experience the tools to help you continue developing yourself without harming your existing relationships. You don’t have to change everything in your life because you changed. Through a mindful and intentional process of life coaching, you will continue to grow on your journey and will have the tools and uncover new opportunities to help your loved ones do the same.

Did any of these points resonate with you? If so, please get in touch for a free life coaching consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
